PEAK Lake Garda 2027 Sold Out in Under 24 Hours
If you were weighing up the PEAK Lake Garda festival for April 2027, youβve missed your window. Registration for the LG21 half marathon opened in July 2026 and closed inside 24 hours. The official site doesnβt soften it: βThe race bibs for the half marathon are sold-out! There is no waiting list!β
The LG42 full marathon hit capacity shortly after. Also no waiting list.
Thatβs fast by any standard. Most races trickle out over weeks or months, if they sell out at all. The 2026 Garda edition sold out seven months ahead of race day, which was already aggressive. The 2027 half cleared in a day.
Whatβs actually left: the side events β LG KIDS (Saturday April 10, Arco) and the OXYBURN Trail Run. If the main events were your target, theyβre gone.
The rush makes sense once you look at the numbers. Around 5,000 participants across all events, drawn from 80+ nationalities. Germany is the biggest contingent at 31%, Britain second, and Italy only 11% β this is an international destination race, not a local one. The LG21 skews female too: 62% of entrants, over 1,500 women against roughly 950 men.
The courses are the hook. Both are point-to-point along the northern lake, finishing in Malcesine under the castle. The LG42 starts in Limone sul Garda with 180m of climbing; the LG21 starts in Arco with barely 60m. Flat-ish, fast, absurdly scenic.

What this means for CPD travel planning
The uncomfortable bit for anyone who pairs races with conferences: the old order of operations is broken. The classic sequence was pick a conference, find a nearby race, check your leave, then register. When a race sells out in a day, that sequence dies. Your leave gets approved in March and the bibs have been gone since July.
Garda is not a one-off. Every year a small list of races clears out within hours of opening, and the list keeps growing. For CPD travellers the fix is to invert the process: register for the race first β entry fees are usually cheap enough to eat or partially refundable β then build the conference around it. Finding a conference near a race is far easier than the reverse.
If your dates are flexible, the European calendar still has plenty that wonβt vanish in a day. Yet. And the full event list covers the rest, rated and sorted.
The lesson: if a 2027 race is on your list, donβt wait for the conference calendar to fall into place first. Anaesthesia conferences will still be there in six months. Race bibs wonβt.
