The Kitakyushu Marathon 2027 is a city road course from Kokura with western and eastern out-and-back legs, starting at Kitakyushu City Hall and finishing outside the Kitakyushu International Conference Center. The course is certified by JAAF and AIMS, with a field cap of 10,800 and a 6-hour time limit. The only sustained rise is a high point of about 45 m around km 5-6, and the rest is close to sea level. The second half features a long exposed stretch along the Kanmon Strait, where wind is a significant factor.

Run past the blast furnace that sparked Japan's industrial revolution, then loop through the retro port district of Mojiko before a breezy, exposed finish along the strait. February keeps the course cool and the crowds light, so you can linger over a bowl of yaki udon or a plate of fresh fugu in the old town afterward.
