Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon
The Everest Marathon is an Annual International High Altitude Adventure Sports Event held on May 29 from Mt. Everest Base Camp, Celebrating the Historic Everest Ascent by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary on May 29, 1953.
In late May, the trails around Namche Bazaar are clear and the air is crisp, offering stunning views of Ama Dablam and Everest as you run. Between training or spectating, warm up in a local teahouse with a bowl of steaming thukpa and a cup of butter tea, a staple that fuels both trekkers and runners alike.
