In late August, Lucerne's lakefront is still warm and golden, and the Verkehrshaus sits right on that water — so between sessions you can stroll the Swiss Transport Museum's outdoor exhibits or grab a lakeside lunch of rösti and a cold local beer. The summer crowds have thinned, leaving the old town's Chapel Bridge and cobbled lanes pleasantly relaxed for an evening walk after the conference day.
