The Middle-earth Halfling Marathonβ„’ 2027 is sold out.

Registration opened at 10am NZT on Wednesday 5 August 2026. The official Hobbiton page flipped to REGISTRATIONS ARE FULL the same morning. That fast.

At the 2026 edition, bibs disappeared in under an hour. The official Hobbiton account warned runners to β€œset your alarms”, and Travelers Today confirmed the one-hour sellout.

Missed it? One more window: cancelled registrations are re-released on 4 February 2027 (first-come, first-served via EventPlus).

Race day is Saturday 20 March 2027. Two distances: 21.1km Halfling Marathon ($280), or the 11.1km Eleventy-first ($230), through the Hobbiton Movie Set and Waikato farmland. If you want a bib, be online at 10am on 4 February. The 2026 edition lasted under an hour. This one may not last the day.
