The course is USATF / IAAF / AIMS certified and a Boston qualifier, with open registration rather than a lottery. As the Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon, every mile is dedicated to a 'Champion Child', giving the flat-and-fast course an unusually emotional crowd.
