A genuinely flat, fast point-to-point course that runs the full length of Newport News from north to south. The race starts in the wooded calm of Newport News Park near the city's northern edge, then heads south down the spine of the city, threading the Mariners' Museum Park, the tree-lined Warwick Boulevard corridor and waterfront neighborhoods along the James River before finishing in the downtown shipyard district at the landmark Victory Arch, beside Victory Landing Park and Newport News Ship +97m elevation
