Downtown-to-greenway loop marathon course in Raleigh with 372m elevation gain. A genuinely hilly course that splits into two distinct halves. The race starts in the heart of downtown Raleigh near the North Carolina State Capitol and runs out along Hillsborough Street past the NC State University Memorial Belltower, with an early loop through Pullen Park. From roughly the midpoint it drops onto the Capital Area Greenway system — paved, tree-lined paths along the Reedy Creek, House Creek and Mine
